Jami- I know your family has been through so much this week. I’m so thankful your mom is doing better. Hopefully, that news, along with these pictures of your sweet family, will put a smile on your face tonight. Thank you, once again, for allowing ME to spend time with YOUR family! It’s a treat and an honor(and a BIG deal) to me!
You make my heart smile!
I love how gifted you are…and how amazing you are. You are so good with my kids & you capture our personalities perfectly.
Thank you SO, so much!
Since I think it’s SO important to document the REAL lives of families (especially children), I was really excited when they wanted to do another Lifestyle Session this year!
I don’t know how it’s possible, but these two girls just get more and more beautiful each time I see them…
As I was packing-up my camera, I noticed these sweet cuddles. Had to get just a couple more pictures before I left…
I’ve figured out one (of the many) reasons I love photographing the same families each year… SIDE-by-SIDE comparison photos! As I went to look for a picture from their session first session with me 4 years ago, I thought, “Hmmm… Rachel would probably prefer to see her NEW pictures NOW!” So, even though I’m dying to pull a picture of the girls from two years ago or last year, I’ll get these NEW ones posted now and play later!
As you have seen, Halle has a gorgeous smile. But, she also happens to pull-off a serious-look just about better than anyone I know!
Thank you, Rachel!
I sooooooo appreciate your loyalty to me… even though I’m forever away now!
I’ve always been sohonored when families ask me to photograph them again and again.
And now that I’ve moved and my schedule only allows me to return to Georgia for sessions a few times each year, it’s an even BIGGER honor that so many wonderful families actually wait for me to come back!
I met Matthew and Catalina in the fall of 2013. I would tell you how cute their lil’ Jack was as a little baby. But, here’s their photos. You can see for yourself! Then, they ask me to photograph their family again the following fall. (If you’re wondering if Jack continues to get cuter, the answer is YES! Go ahead… click HERE! )
And, here we are! My third year to get lucky enough to document this wonderful family’s memories… and their NEW baby girl, Kate!
Wanna’ know a secret about Catalina?!?!
She’s gorgeous. (That’s obviously NOT the secret since that’s very evident.) But, beyond being naturally beautiful, her inward beauty is even better than her outward beauty. Not only is she smart and devoted to her husband and kids, she’s got such a sweet, kind and gentle spirit. It doesn’t get any better than that, does it?!?
I love taking LOTS(and lots and lots and lots) of photos of a mom and her child together. In most cases, moms are usually the ones taking the photos (and not IN them). So, I love surprising moms with several photos of her and her child that she will love for generations…
“Oh, how I waited for you…
Oh, how I longed to meet you.”
When I heard those lyrics in a beautiful song several months ago, I felt such deep emotions inside my heart. I felt some sadness as I thought about a particular mother who had prayed 7 years for a child. A child that she believed God was going to bless her with one day. But, I also felt so much happiness when I imagined how she must have felt when, after desperately laying her requests before God in the Pacific Ocean one final time, He gave her the desires of her heart(Psalm 37:4).
Stephanie has a gift of encouraging others with her words and stories of faith. So, I was honored I got to document a VERY important week in her life that has been FULL of God’s love, promises and faithfulness. Not only does this week mark Stephanie and Barry’s 12th wedding anniversary and their big move to their family farm, their photos are also a true picture of the GIFT God has blessed them with- Gabrielle!
Usually, moms don’t have a lot of great pictures with their child. So, when I’m doing a family session, I always take LOTS of photos of the two of them together. I just LOVE this series of them…
But, she clearly loves her daddy too…
Those faces… Goodness gracious!
Raise your hand if you LOVE their front door!
She’s just a tiny-bit cute, right?!?!
This is their Farmhouse view…
Back to that song…
Stephanie contacted me to simply take a few PHOTOS of their family. BUT, in my mind, I had a sneaky idea to surprise her with a little video too! I hope she loves the song as much as me!
On a side-note, after this session and my last Georgia-session, I’ve quickly realized how much I MISS photographing families! I’ve decided to take clients here in NW Arkansas, specializing in Lifestyle Sessions with a special VIDEO as well!
And since I’ve always surprised my clients with their Lifestyle videos, I’ve been VERY limited with the amount of VIDEO coverage I could shoot… while still photographing at the same time and not looking suspicious. So, I’m REALLY looking forward to making this a part of my NEW packages! Now, I’ll be able to communicate with my clients their favorite family activities where I can capture memories that are special and unique to them!

A year ago, Matthew and I pulled out of our church parking lot on Mother’s Day and started our 11 hour drive to NW Arkansas. We knew we only had a few hours the next morning to find a house (before we spent the rest of the day driving back to Georgia).
And within a few hours of our house hunt, it quickly felt like we had seen it ALL…
We walked into a new home with the unmistakable smells of brand-new carpet on the floor and fresh paint on the walls.
We walked into another home with a kitchen island bigger than the bathroom in our first house! (But, the island, unfortunately, was also bigger than that house’s backyard.)
There was even a fixer-upper with the most beautiful, winding staircase. (The kind of staircase that, I’d be lying if I didn’t admit, I had already envisioned my girls walking down together on early Saturday mornings.)
But, somewhere before we drove “forever-away” to see one of the last houses on our list (and somewhere after we stood in the middle of the same house that looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in several years), we found ourselves standing in the BACKYARD.
And, instantly, we KNEW we HAD to have THISBACKYARD ‘house‘.
I saw a pool!
I saw trees!
I saw a trail that led down to a creek!
I saw more space than what we’d been able to have in the past 13 years of marriage.
But, most importantly, I saw a big, blank canvas for SO many memories that I knew our family would be creating there together…
I’ve the LUCKIEST gal in the world to have wonderful families who still choose me to photograph their family! (Even when I move around all over, they just make sure they get in when I come back!) I love photographing this family each year!
You make my heart smile!
I love how gifted you are…and how amazing you are. You are so good with my kids & you capture our personalities perfectly.
Thank you SO, so much!
