Michael & Maddox

I’ve gotten to PLAY take photos of these guys for several years! I missed their sweet mom this visit, but look forward to photographing her with her boys soon!

Cooper

Cooper is a SENIOR and I felt so privileged to be the one to document this special milestone!

It was so great seeing Todd & Val as well! (We served together in preschool at 12Stone over 8 years ago!)

The Nicols

Eight years ago, I met a little girl in Ross’ first grade class. She was a pretty girl with a pretty name! So pretty, in fact, when I found out I was having another baby girl, I wanted to name her Wren! (Matthew was convinced we needed to stick with another “R” name where she didn’t feel left out.)

When her mom reached out to me last week regarding a session, I was very excited to get to see Wren and her family! Oh, and a furry “Merlin” was an added bonus!

Beautiful Girls Retreat

I’ve had the awesome opportunity to be a chaperone at Beautiful Girls Retreat for the past 2 years. And what a BLESSING it has been in my life! This year, I’m even MORE excited to get to share my passion for getting in God’s Word!

Each year, I’m blown-away at how EVERY.SINGLE.DETAIL (speakers, lessons, crafts and more) is centered-around teaching the girl’s God’s Love and Truth!

This year, we had the special privilege to hear from Emma Mae Jenkins, Savvy Shields (Miss America 2017) and more regarding each one’s personal walk with the Lord.

Mark your calendars for March 13 & 14, 2020 and REGISTER here: http://www.nwabeautifulgirls.org/register-1

The Cooks

I’m crazy about any lil’ girl who asks me to make her shrimp pasta, surprises me at the end of our session (see last photo!) and gives her brother REAL squeezes!

In Photoshop, I added extra space to this photo below. I’m going to show Jamie some printing options (ie: notepads, dry erase board, family cards, etc.) that would allow her to use that white margin area for notes. So many FUN & CREATIVE options with photos!

Candy to the Rescue!

I have a VERY SHORT list things I’m pretty GOOD at doing:

  • Loving-on DOGS
  • Dipping anything in home-made Ranch dressing
  • Quality time with my peeps

These are just a FEW, but here’s some things I’m NOT good at doing:

  • Sweeping floors
  • Cute hair & trendy outfits
  • DECORATING (x 100,000,000!)

But I DO know how to Seek the help of a PROFESSIONAL!

Welcome, Candy…

During our renovation, Matthew started asking me questions about tile, grout colors, tile and carpet. But it only took a few minutes of standing in a store, TOTALLY OVERWHELMED, before I admitted, “We need Candy.”

Not only did Candy show up at the store to pick-up colors, she ALSO came to our house AFTERWARDS to help us DECORATE!

I wanted to tell ALL of my friends about her, so she graciously agreed to let me snap some photos of her one day while our kids were in school. Here’s a few more from my camera, but make sure to follow Candy on Instagram to get great DECORATING tips, ideas and tricks!

Lydia’s Senior Photos

Over the past few years, I’ve started intentionally thanking God for the GIFT of photography. Not necessarily in the ‘ability‘ to take photos (although I certainly believe James 1:17). More so, for the BLESSINGS I receive when I have the privilege to document a person’s life.

JOY comes each time I’m behind a camera. Like, deep-in-my-gut JOY that can’t be explained. The other way God has used photography is by placing some extra-special people in front of my camera.

I met Lydia and was so ENCOURAGED by her love, gentleness and faith! She is a bright, Godly, fun and very kind gal who, no doubt, will be used by the Lord.

We laughed a lot.
We might have BROKEN SOME RULES ‘gone outside our rule-following comfort zones.’
We took WAY.TOO.MANY.PHOTOS.
But, we had a lot of fun!

Thank you, Lydia and Sarah, for allowing me to be part of such a special milestone!
