I would love to write and write about this session, but right now, I’m right in the middle of a terrible storm (“Beryl”) and my internet coverage is very shady.
Sweet, sweet Lifestyle session with Jane & Drew! Enjoy….

If you didn’t get enough of Marley last month, here’s some more for you! For THIS session, she decided to bring along her mom, dad and two adorable big brothers!
I warned Maya at the beginning of our session… I LOVE photographing a mom with her children. So often, moms are the ones taking all the pictures and it seems we NEVER get in any. To me, the professional photos I have with my kids are some of my most valued possessions!
Moms- Don’t you agree?!?

Let me explain this next series:
I took the first image at the very beginning of the session. I would rate the boys ‘happy.’
I took the second image in the middle of our session, after moving from a field to a CREEK. I would rate the boys ‘happier.’
I took the last image when I told the boys we were finished, but really wanted to take some more of them having fun we were ‘UN-officially finished’. I’d say they were both the ‘happiest‘ at this point (…with half of their clothes off)!

You can see from the last few images, I wasn’t kidding about how much I enjoy photographing a mom with her kids! I had to post a few more of Maya and her beautiful children…

Each year I look forward to taking Ross and Rayna strawberry picking at Washington Farms. If you’ve never been, it’s a fun experience for the family. You are given a bucket to collect your own strawberries in their field. Just let the kids fill it to the top and take it home! I managed to put a few in the freezer this year, but the majority were gone within a week!

I’m so glad we started this tradition three years ago! Wanna’ see our old trips?!?
Here’s some pictures and mushy-thoughts from last year’s tradition:
Here’s 2009… Rayna was SUCH a sweet, little baby!
Jeff and Meghan have such a special family. Each year, I look forward to seeing Meghan’s name pop-up on my phone… hoping she’s ready to schedule a time to update her family’s photos! Out of the five sessions we’ve had together, this year was my favorite!
Kohen has a little sister now and it’s VERY evident how much he loves her. As a matter-of-fact, he says God made him strong where he could take care of Maya. Is it just me, or can you tell from this image how peaceful and loved she must feel with her big brother’s ‘strong‘ arms wrapped tightly around her…

This image was suppose to be of Jeff & Meghan alone; but look who decided to run in and join them?!?! I just LOVE real moments like this….

Jeff & Meghan- I’m always so refreshed after spending time with your family. You both display so much love, patience and kindness in your life, marriage and parenting. Kohen and Maya will, no doubt, be wonderful people with you two as their examples!
As I stood in the creek, enjoying the cool water on my legs and mud between my toes, I watched Louisa & Hogan and thought to myself, “I am the luckiest girl in the world!”
This pregnancy has been extremely hard on me- physically, mentally and every other ‘-ally’ that I may be forgetting. There’s been several points where I questioned if I needed to continue with sessions this year. BUT, no matter how much my brain wants to shut down and keep me in bed all day, my HEART totally does triple back-flips comes alive when I’m taking pictures! I meant it when I told these kiddies I could spend the rest of the morning watching them play in the water. For me, it was pure joy.

I had a great time photographing this family last time, but I’m convinced… EVERY family needs a summer-session with NO shoes, a waterfall and a creek to splash around in! It was PERFECT!
I can’t believe it’s already been a year since I did Lyric’s 1-year old photos! She’s changed in so many ways, yet, she still has that same sweet smile and fun spirit!
