I told myself I wasn’t going to cry.
But as it got close to midnight on the last night of our family vacation and I hugged my sister goodnight, knowing it was the last time I’d see her and my mom for a while, I kind-of lost it. (Cried myself to sleep, actually.)
Not only was I saying goodbye to some of my favorite people in the whole world, I was returning to an unfamiliar state with a house full of boxes and a list a mile-long of home-repair projects.
Good thing we made PLENTY of memories to last until the next time we’re all together again! Some of my favorite memories were…
hours on the beach…
countless games of UNO…
sausage balls, cheese eggs and coffee for breakfast…
sunscreen on by 9am…
chasing waves…
swimming with a dolphin…
watching Matthew and Ross catch (LOTS and LOTS and LOTS and LOTS of) crabs …
anticipating dinners (that are so good you skip lunch that day)…
cousins pretending and playing…
fireworks and glow-sticks on the beach at night!
Needless to say, it was a GREAT vacation filled with WONDERFUL memories!
Here’s a VIDEO with a few more of our adventures!
