It has been so neat watching Tinsley grow-up. I’ve photographed her family each year, so I was tickled-pink (no pun intended) when I was asked to photograph her very fancy 5th birthday party this year!
Here’s a slideshow with a few more…
Also, if you liked this of Ross or this of Rayna, you’ll LOVE to see I’m branching-out to my sweet clients with this super-cute idea!

Think about the special occasions in yourown life…
If they are anything like the milestones in my own family, a lot of time goes into making sure the day is perfect.
Details are planned months in advance.
Friends and family are there to make the day special and memorable.
But unfortunately, one thing is usually true for me:
If I DO try to document all the moments, I can’t be present for all of them.
If I AM present for all the memories, I MISS the opportunity to photograph them.
That’s why I am SO passionate about EVENT PHOTOGRAPHY. It allows YOU to be present in the moment with your family AND still have lifelong memories to treasure forever. I blogged a personal story a year ago that explains why this hits close to home with me. Click HERE to hear about Ross’ 1st birthday.
So, when I received an email from Lindsey about photographing Michael’s baptism, even though it was a few weeks before I planned on shooting again, I HAD to say, “Yes… of course!”
Here are a few. (And, yes! If it looks like Michael is smiling specifically for me, it’s true!)
Melvin and Janice have not only been blessed to share the past 50 years together, they have been greatly blessed to have 3 daughters who love and cherish them both so much! Friends and family came together to celebrate their wedding anniversary and I was honored to photograph it.
As I approached the cabin, I looked out my window and remembered why I love my job SO much…
I loved watching everyone’s expressions during the slideshow…
It was a wonderful evening! Thank you, Christy, for capturing so many of the special moments with your wonderful talent of photography!

Like many of you, I have been following Chris & Katie’s wonderful blog. For a while, it was filled with funny stories and great images of their two adorable and silly little girls. However, after they found out they were pregnant, the mood quickly changed from excitement and joy to fear of the unknown. I think all of our hearts were touched by Katie’s incredible attitude and decision to focus on her blessings instead of dwelling on what the future might hold. I, for one, was also moved by Chris’ words as he confessed his fears and doubts, which later turned to hope, throughout this entire process. Their story has been such as inspiration to us all. It’s no surprise that thousands of people had baby Hallie on their hearts Monday morning.
When I arrived at the hospital, there was an ENTIRE recovery room set-aside from Chris and Katie’s family. Katie had just been taking back for a C-section and each person in the room, normally friendly and upbeat, were pretty much silent as we all waited for some type of news on baby Hallie. Bella held her baby-doll “Hallie” and played cards to pass the time…
Some waited for an update on their phones (or played a ‘Special Agent Oso’ like Farrah), while others just held on tightly to the one they loved…
When the first text came in that Hallie was here and breathing on her on, there were lots of smiles and some happy-tears. I got to go back early to capture some of the first moments between Chris, Katie and sweet Hallie…
The girls came in next to meet their baby sister. Lots of loving going on. I think one of them even tried to share her new sucker with her…
Here’s the Little Green Family’s updated family photo…
Overall, I was amazed and touched by all the support surrounding Chris and Katie. When the family members were allowed in the room, Katie’s brother and sister made a quick-stop to see baby Hallie, but then went immediately to Katie’s side. This photo of them is so symbolic of this family’s love for one another…
Bella was taught how to check her little sister’s heartbeat…
After all Katie has been through, this image represents faithfulness, love, hope and real beauty…
Hallie’s road is still filled with many uncertainties, but what they’ve witnessed so far is God’s favor, love and blessings on them all. Let’s all continue to keep them in our hearts and prayers.
Below is a few more images from Hallie’s first few hours…
Leave the Green’s a special comment or words of encouragement. Also, stay connected on Hallie’s Facebook page.
Much love to the green family.
Great pictures Christy!
Thank you for being there for them nd for sharing them with us.

We will be keeping this family in our thoughts and prayers. Thanks to the Greene family for allowing us to share in this miracle in their life and thank you, Christy, for putting it into pictures where we could understand it even better. Great job!
Christy, I am blown away by the beauty of your work. Thank you for being a part of this …. for your gift to them and to us to experience God’s love… and witness their faith and love. Hallie is a special child, like each child of God.

Such a moving story of Jesus’s love and grace. I can’t read or look at the photos without tears of sadness and deep joy! I saw your video at Buckhead Church and began to follow your continuing story. Your little Hallie has touched my heart deeply. What a sweet and lovely gift she was to you and to us. May Jesus continue to hold you in His arms even as He also holds your sweet Hallie—now made perfect and she will never ever have to undergo the smallest bit of pain or struggle! What an amazing reunion it will be. You are a physically beautiful family…..but oh the beauty of Christ that shines so brightly through you. Radiating! Thank you for sharing your hearts with us. Hallie, I know that you know what a sweet message your short life here on earth has been and always will be!

I remember Ross’ 1st birthday party like it was yesterday. In addition to all the brightly colored balloons around our house, there were several Clifford balloons that were so big, they could have probably lifted him right off the ground. Our kitchen island was hidden beneath the platters of dips, shrimp, perfectly-cut sandwiches, fruits and veggie arrangements. There was even a photo-display with the sweetest photos of Ross from his first 12 months. Knowing I had covered every detail, I put my fully-charged camera around my neck and was ready to take on day.
Unfortunately, after the party was over and the left-overs were put away, I felt like the entire day had been a failure. Although I photographed every single detail of the day, I wasn’t present for any of them. With my little birthday boy tucked-away in his crib upstairs, I promised myself that night I would always be present… even if that meant I left my camera in my bag.
Five years later, as more and more clients started asking me to photograph their events and parties, I realized the problem I personally experienced is really common! There is SO much time, love and creative energy that goes into a party… especially your child’s FIRST birthday party! You owe it to yourself to TAKE a DEEP BREATH, ENJOY your FRIENDS & FAMILY and allow all of the unique details and special moments to be CAPTURED forever! (And the best part… YOU actually get to be IN the photos for once!)
When Kim asked me months ago to photograph Sawyer’s farm-themed birthday party, I KNEW it was going to be incredible! Kim is a client, a great planner & ALSO my cousin! Soooo… not only did I get to experience all the fun of a jumper, petting zoo, hay ride, campfire, playground and cook-out, my family was invited too!
Here’s a few of the oh-so-cute Sawyer enjoying his cake…
“Granny” (my great-grandmother) has had a few health concerns lately. Thankfully, she has pulled-though each one of them and, as you can see, is doing really well! (She has ALWAYS been incredible with babies! Can you tell?!?)
Cute story: If a guy shows Sophie his arm muscle (no matter how muscular he is), she pays it no attention. BUT, when her dad shows her HIS muscle, this is always her animated reaction. The sound of Sophie yelling and clapping is just the cutest thing!
Just a few of the details…
Happy 1st Birthday, Sawyer! I’m so happy I got to be there for your special day!
These are incredible pictures of a wonderful family taken by a great photographer!

Sawyer is adorable. I remember meeting him at Granny’s birthday party last November. His Grandma Matt couldn’t show him to me fast enough, she was so happy. Happy 1st Birthday to a special boy who has a wonderful family.
You never cease to amaze me! These are amazing!! I am so grateful that you could be there to capture Tinsley’s party!!!
I think that having a photographer at birthday parties is the BEST thing ever! It looks like a perfect party!
