Happy Easter weekend! I wanted to share a video my friend in Arizona created for Lifechurch.tv. It means a lot to me because, during my short time in Arizona, I experienced God in so many new and wonderful ways. It has always been so easy for me to connect with God through music, so, I was honored to get to be a part of their project.
This song has been on my mind this weekend, so I though I’d share with you too.
You would have never known Melisa and James planned their wedding via emails and phone calls from Seattle! Every detail was unique and beautiful. The venue was perfect. The flowers (by Bentley Designs) were gorgeous. Lastly, the food was delicious! It was obvious James and Melisa put a lot of time into making their wedding personal (ie: coffee beans in flower arrangement) and special.
It was so important to Melisa that her grandmother be there for her wedding. Before the ceremony, she gave Melisa the engagement ring that Melisa’s mom had worn. It was very special.
After the ceremony, Melisa, James and I took a walk around Piedmont Park. We found many places for photographs- even a playground!
These disposable cameras were given to all of the kids to keep them busy. It worked!
It was a little windy over the weekend, but I loved how Melisa’s veil kept blowing in the wind. Her nephew seemed to like it too!
I already have two cute boys posted, but, give me a break! How can you resist this face? He’s just way too adorable!
Before my finger presses the shutter button, I usually already know if that particular image will be best in color or black and white. This one was different. I’m still not sure, so I posted both.
What do you think?
Thank you, Melisa and James for allowing me to share your day with you!
I LOVE the black and white. The color is beautiful, too, but the b/w is just CLASSIC! Great pics, as always!!!

I just dont know, now. I’ve looked at the color vs b/w a few times and the way the sun hits the trees is really something beautiful! I think i’d just have to have them both! 🙂

I just heard about a great (and free) program called Shape Collage that imports your photos, creates a collage and saves the image as a single jpg. file. This entire process was less than a minute. It’s a great way to share a lot of images at once. Since my favorite wedding shots are always the detailed shots, James and Melisa’s wedding was a perfect time to try it out.
Your photos of James and Melisa are great. I like the swings and the slide but the pic of the shoulder shot of Melisa was great! You do fantastic work!
I miss blogging. In my ideal world, I would spend the majority of the day photographing Ross and Rayna at some great, hidden locations around me. Also, in my ideal world, they would both take a 2 hour nap each day (at the same exact time) and I could sit down and return emails and post a few new pictures each day.
Although I have a million new ideas, plans and great changes for my business, I’ve decided to take a deep breath and embrace this season of our lives. The past several weeks have been all about unpacking boxes, cleaning and hanging pictures. Continue to check back… I have SO many things I’m looking forward to photographing and sharing this year!
In the meantime, I will post a few pictures from this weekend. I took Ross and Rayna to the park before shooting a wedding. The weather was beautiful and I, as always, I was glad I had my camera with me to photograph them playing outside.
Ross found a stick almost twice as big as him. He carried it around the park. Very cute.
This was a real and unstaged hug. Ross wasn’t as into it as Rayna, but it was still sweet.
“Rayna Claire-Bear… Can Mama have a kiss?”
(This was her response…)
I confessed to Ross that I’m actually a little scared of geese. This is Ross telling them to go home.
OH MY GOODNESS! I know you haven’t been gone that long, but Rayna looks so different, her hair is absolutley adorable and so curly and long. She is so beautiful, I just love love all the pictures. I really like the one where Ross is carrying the stick, the backdrop is gorgeous, are the trees really that color still? WoW! I was so happy to see new pictures, we sure do miss you all!

Rayna looks just like you in that first pic. Great Pictures. Looks like you were at Little Mullberry Park. We love that park, but we stay on the Fence Rd. side.
OMG! When did Rayna wake up looking exactly like Ross? That’s just crazy how much her little face has changed! It looks like you guys are having fun being back home.

I love Little Mulberry Park too. And, yes… Rayna does look just like Ross!
Kenslee got her ears pierced… very sad… very sweet… very cute. I was tempted to get Rayna’s ears pierced with her cousin, but I’m thinking she would do better a little later. (Isn’t Kenslee’s face so sad?!?)
Hey the lady at Claire’s who pierced Caroline’s ears said the younger the better cause they don’t squirm around as much or cry as much either.

PS Kenslee is a cutie pie!!!

She is so sweet & cute & the ear rings are very pretty. Although
I could not bring myself to do that. And I guess that comes from
when I worked at walmart & seeing all those babies one right after the other crying from having that done it just kinda got to me after a while.

After unpacking boxes and putting together Ross and Rayna’s room, I took a break late last night to relax and finish some pictures. (Yes, that’s why I’m so thankful to be doing what I love. “Working” is actually relaxing.)
Kenslee, my niece, is already 4 months old. She is one of the sweetest little babies I’ve ever seen. Although she hardly ever cries, I have a feeling Friday will be different. I’m very excited because she’s getting her ears pierced and I’m going with her to take pictures! (I’m still trying to decide if I should get Rayna’s done then.)
Here she is! Check back in a few weeks… she will have some bling-bling for her 5-month session!
