  • Christy… The Girl Behind the Lens

Every great success story starts with a dream. For me, my dream was to always have a camera in hand and a great story behind every shot. In Kindergarten, it was bringing my camera to Show N’ Tell when everyone else brought toys. In middle school, it was getting to know the employees at my local photo lab. In high school, it was an essay I wrote about my 'dream job' of being a photographer.

I have been truly fortunate to watch my lifelong passion of photography bloom into a career and source of happiness in my life. Part of that happiness comes from my love of children and embracing that in my business. My adoration for kids allows me to engage them in a way that makes sessions feel more like a play-date! Whether it’s chasing them around trees or fields, chatting with them about their favorite flavor of ice cream or watching them laugh while I make a funny face, I find it truly uplifting to be a part of their world.

In the same way that every picture tells a story, so too does my blog. I use it to capture pieces of both my professional and personal life. It includes client session photos, engaging stories behind those clients, and even little glimpses into my own family, friends and interests. The curls in my daughter's hair and the cool rock my son found are just a few of the things that inspire me every day!

I am really looking forward to my trip back to Arizona next week!  Not only do I get to return to one of my favorite places in the world, I get to work with my favorite school on a fun project I look forward to each year! Although I’ll be working on Friday and Monday for New Way, I planned on shooting […]

‘Dixie Dandelions’

When online registration opened for our Small Group (through 12Stone), I became crazy-excited when I got an email from Ashley and Jason saying they were thinking about joining.   It was perfect…  I have always had a desire to lead a Small Group.  And, since music is so important to me, I always envisioned live-worship.  (The first time I met […]

What a Great Family

It started as a family session… …yet ended with me feeling like I had known each one of them for years.   We were given permission to end this session at Mill Creek’s football field where Tommy spends most of his time.  It warmed my heart to see, not only is Tommy a great football player, […]

Getting to know Danielle…

Although I didn’t know Danielle that well, I was already pretty sure I was going to love her.  Each week, Danielle helps leads worship for the kids at 12Stone.  Before our session, my view of Danielle was a cute, fun-loving girl who could always get my class of 4-year old kids happy by singing “God loves you and me.  […]

It’s getting pretty late here in Georgia, but I know Haleigh is ready to see a few of her images.  Hopefully, she’ll still be awake in Arizona! She is very interested in photography.  Between a mini Q&A (+) her senior session, we had a lot to cover!   I’m going to bed!  Haleigh, your online gallery is uploading as we speak!  Check […]

The kid who does it all…

Is it possible for someone to make my job extremely easy, yet terribly difficult at the same time?  Nick does it to me each time I photograph him.  He always smiles, never blinks and brings along at least one personal object with him that tells a story about his hobbies and interests at the time.  (Two sessions ago, Nick […]
