Ross’ T-Ball

My favorite little boy in the whole world is now playing t-ball.  I’d like to say he loves it, but he’s really only interested in the snacks that follow each game.  If I happen to be sitting close to the fence, I’ll try to sneak him a peanut as he waits for his turn to bat.

During his first game, I looked in the dugout and saw this face through the fence…

Here’s my little snacking-girl and her cousin.  When they were handed M&M’s, they totally forgot they were there to cheer Ross on.  How appropriate is Rayna’s shirt?!?!

My mama is blogging this.    🙂
Even Parker (my nephew) came out to see Ross…

Rayna on Papa’s (my dad) shoulder…

Hannah (my sister), Jason and Parker.  Ross had 15 family members there cheering him on!

This is ‘Granddaddy.’  He and my grandmother were (and still are) exceptional grandparents to me and my sister.  I have a million great memories with them growing-up, so it feels so good to see them with my children.  The first thing Rayna said when she woke-up one morning was, “Wanna’ go see Granddaddy.  Love em’ so much!”

Game over = Big throw = Big smile.
(Finally!)

Kenneth

Sometimes when Matthew is driving alone, he’ll take the wrong exit to get home.  Lost in thought, he continues to make a few more wrong turns until he finds himself pulling up to our old driveway.

It’s no wonder he still misses that house.  The memories of bringing home our new baby, watching first-steps, finally decorating a house, get-togethers and reading  ‘positive’ on a pregnancy test for the second time are the memories that, even after being gone three years, still make you think about it as home.

Another reason we loved this house so much was because of our neighbors.  Before Ross was born, there were days Matthew and I would hang-out in our front yard… just waiting for everyone else to get home from work or school and come outside.  One of the families we connected with instantly was Yvette and her children.   We were SO happy when we got to see them again (at Matthew’s surprise birthday party) after moving back from Arizona.  When Yvette emailed me to set-up a senior session for Kenneth, it took me a second to wrap my mind around him being a senior.

Congratulations, Kenneth!  We are so proud of you!

Grant

If you know Grant, you have to like him.
Probably for the same reasons as me.  He’s incredibly nice, genuine and humble.
Oh, we also share a common passion…

New Way

There’s a LOT I love about Arizona, but New Way Learning Academy is right up there with the beautiful mountains and Nando’s Mexican Cafe.  My first assignment with this school was several years ago when I photographed their graduation ceremony.  Since that time, I have been able to work with them several times each year.  I just love photographing these students!

In addition to doing a special project (that I can’t wait to share with you later), I also had the awesome opportunity to work with New Way’s amazing marking firm, Cramer-Krasselt.  I photographed the school, students and staff for their new website and marketing materials that are coming soon.  Here are just a few…

Farrah’s Family

As I packed-up early Monday morning for my trip back home from Arizona, my phone rang with a familiar number from Georgia.  It was Farrah, a client-turned-friend, calling with some pretty heart-breaking news.  I cried with her as she told me how she found her dad who had passed away very unexpectedly in the middle of the night.

Although her heart was broken, she was somehow comforted by all of her family who had come into town (from all over the United States) to be together.  During this time, it hit her that it had been years and years since their family had photos taken together.   I went to her house as soon as I arrived back in town to take some pictures before her dad’s funeral service.

Despite their loss, they still managed to have a great attitude during our shoot.  In fact, this family REALLY knows how to have fun.  I only posted the ‘normal’ shots, but believe me… there were PLENTY of crazy out-takes that I can’t wait for their family to see!

Oriana

Oriana is straight-up BEAUTIFUL.

Wanna’ know a secret about her?  I don’t think she even realizes just how gorgeous she is.  And really… what’s better than a beautiful girl who is equally sweet and nice?!?!  Nothing!  That’s why I simply adore Oriana!

Ianna

I saw Ianna and her family walking to our meeting spot long before they ever spotted me.  As I watched them from a distance, I noticed how happy they were.  They looked like they were having a blast simply being together.  Although I already knew Ianna, I couldn’t wait to meet her family!
During our session, I saw more laughs, hugs, kisses, jokes and encouragement between all of them than some families may see in a lifetime.  After their session had ended, I turned the corner and glanced in the window of a local ice-cream shop.  Inside was this beautiful family who seemed to be enjoying one another just as much as the ice-cream!
